This is gonna be a recap of what's been happening!
I'm gonna skip my 4 month holiday, because that basically consisted of going out, eating a lot of junk, watching movies, tv series & spending more money than I even have.
So as you all know it, uni started approximately 1 month ago. I got into B Biomedical Science at UTS. Yeah, that huge jenga block! I've made heaps of new friends, and they're all so lovely in their own way.
I'm not gonna say uni is easy, nor flexible. It is hard, and the work load, the travel, the timetable wears me out so much! So if anyone is doing their HSC this year... uni is so not much easier than the HSC. It's like ten times worse!
Somehow... everyone thinks I'm the biggest dork (this includes my high school friends + uni friends). This started since O'day when I was super excited I joined the Sci V Sci (the science club) at UTS!!! And then when I considered to wear the New Scientist tote bag with the slogan 'Science is my bag'... And then when I expressed my love for my 1400 paged biology textbook... And when I started to 'study' over lecture notes. I was then given the verb
'dorking' by my fellow uni friends whenever I was studying... I am so not dorky/nerdy/geeky!
I loved the first few weeks of uni because I was meeting new people and everything! But now I honestly hate uni, no matter what I am behind on work, I just want to sleep all day and don't get chemistry. And because I'm currently hating uni/my course... I've been reconsidering my career path. I think I'm back at square one whether to choose science or design.
With my course... I have no idea what career opportunities I will get. Most likely I'd get into research but that will seriously drive me insane + it's hard to get funding. I will most likely die before I discover a miracle! So if I choose to stick with science I will most likely transfer to another uni to do something else???
And with design... I love design! The main reason I didn't pick design to begin with was because I was always told to never pursue a career in your hobby because you'd end up hating it. Art/design for me was therapeutic, so I always thought I'd release my frustrations of science in drawings or paintings. I don't even have time for that! But design is probably my most comfortable area. If I decide to go with design I'd most likely transfer to B Design in Visual Communications.
Also lately, I've been drinking coffee almost daily to avoid falling asleep in lectures. Haha! I've been buying more clothes trying to avoid repitition of outfits! I've been playing this hilarious virtual dating game on my DS called 'Sprung- The Dating Game' and getting rejected all the time because I'm apparently a 'fast' woman.
Anyways I don't know where I'm going with this blog entry but it saddens me how life seems to be going faster than my own thoughts...
I miss freedom.
Next time I'll blog about something not so boring...
